This site map displays the overall plan of the Cathance Shores project, depicting the outline of the 1,000-acre plot located on the south shore of Cathance Lake with approximately 3-1/2 miles of premier Maine waterfront property. Cathance Shores offers a private sub-development comprising approximately 200 acres along the wooded shoreline, buffered by between 500 and 600 acres of land that is deed restricted as a working forest. The major roads leading to the Cathance Shores Community traverse this working forest from Route 191, which travels from Machias to Calais. Further to the south is an additional 4,000 acres, which is projected to also remain as a working forest buffer.
Currently, there are 21 lakefront lots offered for sale along this Maine waterfront property from Gray Cove to Smith Cove. Longer range, the Cathance Shores Community will expand, including eight (8) additional lakefront lots extending the sub-development through Smith Cove and onto the peninsula, which forms the eastern flank, as well as one additional lot on the northeast edge of the shoreline. A number of wooded lots are also planned within the community.
Hiking trails and nature preserves are abundant in the immediate proximity. There is a deer/moose sanctuary to the south of Cathance Shores and conserved aquatic estuaries define the eastern and western edges of the Cathance Shores shoreline. There are other estuaries in the northern quadrant of the Lake. As shown on this map, Atlantic Salmon conserved lands, State of Maine public lands, and other undeveloped and conserved lands surround the Cathance Shores project location. All teem with nature’s wonders and offer recreational potential that is virtually endless and varied.
